Mulled wine jam "Christmas Punch"

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 550 ml red wine
  • 150 ml orange juice, freshly squeezed
  • 2 bags of mulled wine spice
  • 8 drops of bitter almond flavor
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 10 carnations
  • 1 sachet of Gelfix Classic
  • 800 g brown sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Heat the wine in a saucepan, then add the mulled wine spices, cinnamon sticks, and cloves. Add the freshly squeezed orange juice to the mulled wine. Add the bitter almond flavoring. Let everything steep over low heat for about 10 minutes, then strain into a container to filter out the cinnamon, cloves, and pulp. Pour the mulled wine back into the pan. Mix the gel fix with 2 tablespoons of the sugar, then add to the mulled wine and bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly. Once it boils, add the remaining sugar and bring the mixture back to a boil, stirring constantly, then boil briskly for at least 3 minutes, stirring continuously. Pour the jelly into sealable jars and let stand upside down for about 5 minutes. This amount is enough for 5 jars of 200 ml Christmas on a Bun.
