Beauty professionals swear by it: multi-masking is a major facial care trend and is said to conjure up a balanced, radiant complexion. We reveal what is behind the beauty hype and give practical tips on how to use it!
This is multimasking: a definition
It doesn’t matter whether you have normal or impure skin: the tissue on the face does not have the same care requirements. This is exactly where multimasking comes into play.
Beauty professionals use this term to describe a process that is as simple as it is ingenious: mixing different face masks.
After all, a single product cannot both clarify your complexion down to the pores and moisturize and make the delicate eye area shine.
For all these different needs, care masks with different recipes must be used – and with multi-masking these are simply applied to the different facial regions at the same time.
The effect: Every skin area receives exactly the care it needs – and in just one treatment.
This is how multimasking works: tips for use
To use multimasking effectively, first, define your individual facial zones with different care needs. Of course, these are individual for each person. But: In general, three facial zones can be distinguished for all skin types. These are The T-zone, the cheeks, and the eye area.
The T-zone has a particularly large number of sebaceous glands, which is why impurities and skin shine are common here. Use clarifying, antibacterial, and mattifying cleansing masks with ingredients such as zinc, clay, vitamin C, or activated charcoal for this region.
The cheeks are usually drier than the rest of your face. We recommend nourishing facial care that supplies your skin with moisture and oils. So when multi-masking, use a hydro-mask with active ingredients such as vegetable oils, shea butter, or aloe vera.
The eye region, on the other hand, is extremely sensitive thanks to particularly thin skin – and demanding. Choose special eye masks for eye care here. These have a light consistency and are particularly gentle and well tolerated. Popular ingredients are vitamin E and hyaluronic acid.
