Nanna’s Birthday Cake
The perfect nanna’s birthday cake recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
for the dough
- 250 g Butter nut butter
- 75 g Sugar
- 300 g Flour
- 4 piece Egg (size L)
- 1 package Saffron baking powder
- 150 g Coconut milk
- 50 g Chestnut puree
- 20 cl. Saffron syrup
filling
- 20 cl. Walnuts
- 20 cl. Banana chips
- 20 cl. Cornflake`S
- 20 cl. Cake glaze (vanilla)
- 20 cl. Cake glaze (Choko)
Decoration
- Sugar diamonds
- Backopladen
- Decorative ribbons
- Sugar pearls
Step-by-step instructions in the performance see pictures
- Melt the butter.
- Beat eggs and sugar until frothy and slowly pour in the butter. Fold in chestnut puree.
- First sift the flour and baking powder and add gradually.
- Add coconut milk and whisk well (at least 3 minutes) then add the saffron syrup.
- Pour the dough into buttered molds. Layer an ingredient (walnut-banana chips-cornflkes) on each layer of dough and drizzle with a little honey.
- Place baking tins one at a time in the preheated (200 degrees) oven every 15 minutes (from large to small). When the baking time is up, take it out and let it cool for 5 minutes. Stack on top of each other to form a small cake. Brush with glaze.
- Now the decoration part begins – according to your personal taste. My version is documented in steps.
