Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 250 g bread roll(s), diced
  • 250 ml milk, lukewarm
  • 1 onion(s)
  • 50 g butter
  • 3 eggs
  • e.g. salt and pepper
  • e.g. chopped parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

as dumplings or as in the picture as a piece from the loaf pan, cut into slices

Pour the milk over the bread cubes and mix gently, then let stand for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, finely dice the onions and add them along with the eggs, salt, pepper, and chopped parsley; mix well. Let stand for another 10 minutes. With wet hands, form dumplings, place them in boiling water, and let stand for about 15 minutes. Or pour the mixture into a loaf pan lined with baking paper and bake in the oven at 160°C for about 30 minutes.
