Naturally Beautiful Thanks To Coconut Oil, Argan Oil And Co

From fragrant coconut oil to exquisite argan oil: applied pure, vegetable oils add variety to your beauty routine. They pamper the skin and give hair more shine. Here you can find out what you should pay attention to when using it.

Oils for facial care: The best beauty tips

As a make-up remover: natural oils are practical partners when removing make-up. For Oil Cleansing, simply apply a small amount to a damp cotton pad and gently sweep over face to remove makeup. Remove excess oil with another pad and then cleanse the face thoroughly.

As a facial oil: For facial care, use an oil that is tailored to your skin type. Apply a small amount to the face in the morning and evening after cleansing or add a drop to your hand in your day or night care product. The oil helps the skin to bind moisture better. A good alternative to vegetable oils are nourishing facial oils.

Which oil for which skin type?

Dry skin: Olive oil has a moisturizing effect, but leaves an oily film on the skin. Alternatively, almond oil or macadamia oil are suitable.

Sensitive skin: Almond oil and argan oil are also considered to be well tolerated by sensitive skin.
Impure, oily, or combination skin: fast-absorbing oils such as linseed oil, argan oil, or jojoba oil are ideal. They also leave no oil film on the skin. Richer oils, on the other hand, can clog pores and promote the formation of blackheads and pimples.

Mature skin: Argan oil contains linoleic acid and antioxidants, which are said to have an anti-aging effect.

If you suffer from acne, it is best to avoid oil applications on your face to avoid inflammation.

Oils for body care: an alternative to body lotion

As body oil: It is best to massage the oil into the still damp skin after showering. The resulting water-oil emulsion can be absorbed particularly well by the skin. Dry skin areas such as elbows or heels in particular benefit from this treatment. It is best to wipe off the film of non-drying oils such as almond oil or olive oil with a towel after 20 to 30 minutes.

As a massage oil: Non-drying oils are particularly suitable for a feel-good massage. They are only absorbed very slowly so that hands and fingers glide easily over the skin.

Oils for the hair: Look naturally well-groomed

As an anti-frizz helper: does your hair sometimes stand on end? Simply spread some coconut oil or jojoba oil in the palms of your hands and gently stroke it over the hair – everything is back in place. So that the hair does not look stringy, it is better to use the oil sparingly: max. 5 drops for thick, long hair. Also practical: massage some oil into dry hair ends to prevent split ends.

As a hair treatment: Before washing your hair, spread about a tablespoon of oil (e.g. olive oil or avocado oil) in your hair. Leave on for half an hour and then wash off thoroughly with shampoo. This is how you help dry or dull hair to regain its shine. Alternatively, you can leave the oil hair treatment on overnight – also practical for itchy and dry scalp.

Beware of dripping: Spread a towel on the pillow to protect the bedding. Wash out thoroughly the next morning. No time for an oil cure? Then simply use special shampoos and conditioners with a nourishing oil formula on a regular basis.

Which oil for which hair type?

Fine hair: Argan oil smoothes split ends without weighing it down too much.
Dry hair: Avocado oil and sesame oil can restore shine to damaged, brittle hair.
Curly hair: Frizzy and curly hair is naturally rather dry. You can also benefit from avocado oil, but olive oil is also suitable.

Greasy hair: Since greasy hair tends to become stringy very quickly, it is better to avoid using oils in the hair.

Oil is not just oil: what is the difference between natural oils?
Not every natural oil is equally suitable for pampering skin and hair. Vegetable oils naturally have different proportions of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids. A distinction is made between drying, semi-drying, and non-drying oils:

1. Drying Oils:

Ideal for the face and fine hair
e.g. B. linseed oil, poppy seed oil, argan oil, safflower oil, grape seed oil

2. Semi-Drying Oils:

Versatile use for face, body, and hair
e.g. B. soybean oil, rapeseed oil, sesame oil, sunflower oil, apricot kernel oil

3. Non-Drying Oils:

Ideal as a massage oil, hair treatment, or as an ingredient for homemade masks and peelings.
e.g. B. coconut oil, avocado oil, almond oil, olive oil, macadamia oil, shea butter

Shopping tip: preferably organic quality!

If you want to go completely natural, you should ideally use high-quality, organic, native vegetable oils. These are guaranteed to be free of artificial additives that could potentially damage skin and hair.
