Conference was bred in England in 1885. The pear spread in Europe from 1894, especially in northern Germany.

The Conference variety is ideal for raw consumption. But it also tastes delicious in fruit salad, cake, compote or dessert.

The shelf life of pears is rather limited compared to other fruit. This is also the case with the pear variety Conference. Ripe pears should be eaten within 5 days to enjoy them fresh and juicy. If you want to keep ripe pears at home for a few days, you should make sure that the fruit feels comfortable. The place where Conference pears are kept should be dark and cool. Under no circumstances should they be placed in a bowl with other fruit, as the ethylene they contain accelerates the ripening process. Give your pears a place of their own, e.g. B. a separate compartment in the refrigerator.
