New Year's rolls / curl cake

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 500 g rock sugar
  • ¾ liter of black tea (strong enough)
  • 250 g butter or margarine
  • 500 g flour
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 bottle of flavoring (lemon flavor)
  • 1 pack flavoring (lemon baking)
  • Cinnamon
  • Ginger

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Dissolve the rock candy in fresh, hot tea (it can be strong) and let it cool. Dissolve the butter or margarine and mix it with the sugar tea. Add the flour, then the eggs and mix well. Then add the bottle of lemon flavoring and the packet of Zitroback, and cinnamon and/or ginger to taste (I always use both, but I can’t give an exact amount here; it’s always by feel and plenty), and then chill for 2 hours. Bake in the waffle iron as usual and roll up.
