Ingredients for 10 servings:

  • 2 glasses of leccho
  • 1 ring/s of meat sausage
  • 1 jar of pickles
  • 5 onions
  • Ketchup as desired
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Pepper, some whole grains

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Place the lecho in a large pot and simmer on low heat. Add the bay leaves and peppercorns. In the meantime, cut the sausage into small pieces and fry in a little oil. Add the fried sausage to the lecho. Peel the onions, slice them into rings, and fry them as well. Then add these to the lecho. Cut the gherkins into small pieces and add them to the pot. Strain the pickle liquid into the pot. Simmer everything together for about half an hour. Season to taste with ketchup, salt, pepper, and paprika. It’s best to prepare it the night before so the solyanka can marinate properly.
