Ingredients for 1 servings:
- 5 dl cream, 35% fat
- 1 vanilla pod(s) or 1 tsp vanilla pate
- 600 g sugar
- 2 tbsp milk, only if needed

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes
Caramel tents, caramel candies
Combine all ingredients in a large, wide pan. Cook, stirring constantly, until the mixture begins to thicken and pull away from the pan. This should take about 20 minutes. Stir continuously. If the mixture suddenly becomes too thick and bubbly, simply add 2-3 tablespoons of cold milk and stir until smooth. Immediately pour onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. If necessary, spread evenly with a wet spatula to a thickness of about 1/2 cm. Allow to cool slightly and set (test with a knife). Cut the stiff mixture into squares measuring about 2 x 2 cm using a blunt knife dipped in warm water. I usually break it into bite-sized pieces. It will keep for about 1 month.
