Nut bread according to Hugo

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg dough (bread dough for farmhouse bread, homemade or ready-made mix)
  • 100 g walnuts
  • 50 g hazelnuts
  • 50 g nuts (Brazil nuts)
  • 50 g cashew nuts
  • 50 g flaxseed
  • 1 tsp basil, shredded
  • ½ tsp pepper, coarsely ground
  • Grease for the tray or mold
  • Water for brushing

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Roughly chop the nuts and knead them into the prepared bread dough along with the flaxseed, basil, and pepper. Shape into a loaf (I personally place the bread in a greased loaf pan or braid three strands into a plait) and place it on a greased baking sheet. Brush the surface of the dough with water, make a few slits if necessary, and dust with a little flour. Let it rise for about 30-40 minutes. Add a generous splash of water to the preheated oven and bake the dough at 225°C for about 60-70 minutes. When you tap the bottom of the bread, it should sound hollow. Tip: If you want your bread to be shiny, skip the flour and brush it with beer 5 minutes before removing it from the oven. Delicious freshly baked with just butter or with cheese.
