Ingredients for 2 servings:
- 500 g flour, wholemeal spelt flour or wholemeal wheat flour, finely ground
- 250 ml milk, lukewarm
- 1 cube of yeast, fresh
- 1 egg(s)
- 1 tsp honey
- 6 tbsp Clarified butter, soft
- 2 large onions, diced
- 1 bunch sage, finely chopped
- 100 g walnuts (hazelnuts or almonds) roughly chopped
- Salt
- Pepper, coarsely ground
Instructions
Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes
Knead the flour, milk, crumbled yeast, egg, honey, and 2 tablespoons of clarified butter into a soft dough and let it rise in a warm place for 20 minutes. Meanwhile, sauté the onions and sage in the remaining clarified butter. Add the nuts and season generously with salt and pepper. Divide the dough into two equal pieces. Roll each piece out to a thickness of 1 cm. Sprinkle with the nut mixture (which can be still warm, so the dough will rise better) and roll the dough into two loaves. Place the loaves on a baking sheet lined with baking paper and let it rise for another 10 minutes. Then bake in a preheated oven (200°C / 180°C fan oven) for about 15 minutes.
