according to Hildegard von Bingen – against winter depression!
Mix the spices with the liquid honey (and oil, if desired). Crumble the flour into the butter and knead in the honey and spice mixture. If the dough is too soft, knead in 2-3 tablespoons of breadcrumbs or almonds. Form the dough into rolls and refrigerate them for 2-3 hours (or overnight). Cut off pieces from the rolls and form them into olive-sized “nutmegs.” If placed tightly together, this will yield about 90-100 pieces on a baking sheet. Refrigerating the sheet before baking will help the nuts retain their shape better. Bake at 200°C for 10-15 minutes on the second rack from the top. Be careful, they will darken slightly on the underside!
