Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g beans, fresh, green, stringless
  • 1 liter of salted water, for boiling
  • 500 ml milk
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 80 g bacon, streaky, diced
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 20 minutes

Trim the ends of the beans, cut them into 5 cm pieces, and cook in salted water for about 20 minutes. Drain the beans. Bring the milk to a boil, while stirring the butter and flour into a dumpling. Stir the dumpling into the boiling milk and turn off the heat. Stir in the diced bacon and beans, season with salt, pepper, and sugar, and let stand for another 5 minutes. New boiled potatoes go very well with this dish.
