Braised cucumbers a la Mama

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 braised cucumbers
  • 4 large onions
  • 400 g minced meat, mixed
  • 100 g bacon, streaky
  • some oil
  • salt and pepper
  • Sugar
  • Vinegar
  • possibly Maggi

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Peel the pickled cucumbers, quarter them, and slice them thinly. Peel the onions and slice them into strips. Dice the bacon. Fry the bacon in a little oil, add the minced meat and fry it. Add the onions and sauté lightly, then add the cucumbers. Add the spices and simmer over medium heat for 15-20 minutes, stirring frequently. The cucumbers will release plenty of liquid; no additional liquid needs to be added. Season to taste if necessary. Serve with boiled potatoes or mashed potatoes.
