Combine the first five ingredients in a bowl and knead until a smooth dough forms. Let rest for about 1/2 hour. In the meantime, peel the onions and slice them into rings. Finely dice the ham slices. Fry the onions in melted margarine with the raw ham and sauté for 10 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper. Let cool slightly, then stir in the cheese (you can also use diced Gouda) and the cooked ham. Whisk the eggs with the cream and season. Grease a springform pan, roll out the dough, and place it in the pan. Spread the onion mixture on top and pour the egg-cream mixture over it. Bake in a preheated oven at 190°C for about 20 minutes. Then reduce the temperature to 160°C and bake for another 25 minutes. Reheats wonderfully in the oven or microwave.
