Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 package of dough (ready-made cake dough, puff pastry, etc.)
  • 5 large onions
  • 150 g bacon cubes
  • 3 eggs
  • 125 ml cream
  • salt and pepper
  • nutmeg
  • Fat for the muffin tin

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 40 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 10 minutes

Baden onion tart with a twist

Grease a muffin tin. Cut out 12 circles from the cake batter, fitting them into the muffin tin wells and slightly higher than the rim. Finely chop the onions and sauté them with the bacon for about 10 minutes. Then pour the onion and bacon mixture into the muffin tin (about 1-2 tablespoons per muffin). Whisk the eggs with the cream and season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Pour the glaze over the onions, making sure they are not completely covered and none runs over the edges of the tin. Place the tin in the preheated oven and bake at 180°C (top/bottom heat) for about 25-30 minutes. The onion tartlets can be eaten warm, but they also taste delicious cold. Serve with a glass of new wine.
