Onion cake with feta cheese

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 3 large onions
  • 200 g feta cheese
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 150 g sour cream
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp pepper
  • 130 g flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp oil, for frying

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Hearty and light onion cake – very tasty

Thinly slice the onions and fry them in a pan, then let them cool. Combine the sour cream, egg, salt, pepper, baking powder, and sugar with a hand mixer. Add the flour and beat well again. Cut the feta cheese into small pieces. Line a 26 cm round baking pan with parchment paper and pour the batter into the pan. Place the feta cheese and onions on top. Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 200°C for 20-25 minutes. The cake tastes best when it’s still warm.
