Onion flowers with goat cheese from the oven

Spread the love

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large onions
  • 125 g bacon, diced
  • 100 g goat cheese, sliced

Instructions

Working time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 35 minutes

Preheat the oven to 200°C (top/bottom heat). Cut the onions into star shapes, but don’t cut all the way through (tip: place a wooden spoon to the right and left of the onion). Place the onions in a casserole dish and cook with the lid on (or cover with aluminum foil) for about 20 minutes, until the onions have opened. Crumble the cheese. Sprinkle the bacon cubes over the onions first, then the cheese. Cook uncovered for another 10 minutes in the oven. Perfect as a starter or as a side dish for a BBQ.
