Onion Pie on Puff Pastry
The perfect onion pie on puff pastry recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 1 package Puff pastry roll
- Covering
- 1000 g Vegetable onion
- 200 g Bacon cubes
- 2 tbsp Clarified butter
- 3 Eggs
- 1 a cup Cream, sour
- 2 tbsp Flour
- 3 tbsp Caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper
- Process the puff pastry according to the instructions on the package and place on the bottom of the springform pan. Pull up one edge with the rest of the base. Prick the puff pastry base well with a fork (it should create a “hole pattern”).
- Peel the vegetable onion, cut in half and cut into fine strips. In a roasting pan (because of the fat splashes) let the clarified butter get hot and leave ⅔ the bacon cubes in it (don’t fry too hot), add the onion and let it translate. Let the whole thing stew over a low heat for 10 minutes, the onion should not be colored.
- Whisk the eggs, sour cream, flour, salt, pepper and caraway seeds well and add to the onions and stir well.
- Now place the mixture on the base, smooth it out and distribute the remaining bacon cubes on top.
- Bake the cake at about 170 ° for about 40 minutes, cover the cake with aluminum foil shortly before the end of the baking time if necessary so that the bacon does not burn.
