Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 kg onion(s)
  • 30 g butter
  • 2 tsp Fondor or Aromat
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ¼ liter of water
  • some garlic powder
  • some caraway, ground
  • 125 ml cream
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • Parsley, chopped
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Peel the onions and cut into quarters or eighths. Sauté in butter for 2-3 minutes. Add the Fondor, sugar, water, garlic, and caraway seeds, and simmer covered for about 20 minutes. Whisk the cream and egg yolk with the cornstarch, stir into the onions, bring to a boil, and immediately remove from the heat. Stir in the parsley and season with salt and pepper.
