Orange chocolate cookies

Spread the love

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 125 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 orange(s), untreated, grated peel
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 100 g chocolate shavings
  • 100 g icing sugar (for the icing)
  • some orange juice (for the glaze)

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 20 minutes

Knead together butter, sugar, salt, egg, and grated orange zest. Add flour, baking powder, and grated chocolate and knead well. Cover and let rest in the refrigerator for two hours. Roll out to a thickness of about 4-5 mm and cut out cookies. Bake at 200°C for 8-10 minutes. Glaze: Mix powdered sugar with a little orange juice and brush onto warm cookies. Unfortunately, the orange flavor fades pretty quickly, so it’s better to bake again rather than making large batches.
