Ingredients for 75 servings:

  • 200 g butter
  • 125 g sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch of ginger
  • 1 orange(s), untreated, grated peel
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 325 g flour (wheat flour, type 405)
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 3 ½ tbsp orange liqueur
  • 4 slice(s) orange(s), candied

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Total time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes

Cream the butter until smooth and then slowly add the sugar. Mix until creamy. Add the salt, cinnamon, ginger, orange zest, and egg and mix. Add the sifted flour and mix well. Then chill the dough for one hour. Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 5 mm and cut out round shapes. Bake in a preheated oven on the middle rack at 180 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes. For the glaze, mix the sifted icing sugar with the liqueur until thick. Brush the mixture onto the cooled cookies and garnish with the finely sliced ​​orange slices.
