Orange Muffins …

The perfect orange muffins … recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 60 g Branded butter
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 1 Vanilla sugar
  • 2 Free range eggs
  • 60 Flour
  • 1 Teaspoon (level) Baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla sauce powder
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 50 g Ground almonds
  • 30 g Grated chocolate
  • 20 g Chopped pistachios
  • 6 Mon Chéri chocolates
  • Butter for the mold
  • Breadcrumbs for sprinkling
  • 0,5 Candied orange
  • 1 tablespoon Cointreau
  • 1 tablespoon Orange juice for the topping
  • 2 tablespoon Powdered sugar for the icing
  1. Preparation: Brush 6 hollows of a muffin tin with butter, sprinkle with breadcrumbs and place in the refrigerator until ready to use. Dice the candied orange half very finely and mix it with the Cointreau and let it rest covered. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees.
  2. Preparation 2: Whip butter and sugar until white and frothy, then gradually fold in the eggs (each egg for about a minute).
  3. Sift the flour with baking powder and sauce powder, fold in the almonds, grated chocolate and pistachios and gradually stir this mixture into the butter mixture. Finally add the orange cubes marinated with Cointreau and pour the finished dough into the prepared muffin hollows.
  4. Press a Mon Chéri praline into each well and place the mold in the oven. Bake for about 35 to 40 minutes. Let cool slightly and then remove from the mold.
  5. Mix orange juice and powdered sugar into a glaze and spread it on the muffins that are still warm.
  6. These orange muffins are a variant of my “Mon Chéri Muffins”, I came up with both recipes myself and we both like them a lot!
