Orange Peel Skin: Worth Knowing About The Annoying Dents

It doesn’t matter whether you have a slim or full figure: almost 90 percent of all women suffer from cellulite at some point in their lives. Find out now how annoying dents appear and how to treat orange peel skin!

This is how orange peel occurs

The reason for cellulite lies deep under the skin: namely in the connective tissue. This layer between the skin and the fatty tissue is much more flexible in women than in men. The loose barrier thus offers little resistance to the underlying fat.

So it quickly happens that fat cells lying under the connective tissue migrate and penetrate to the surface of the skin. From the outside, they are now visible as bumps or dents. The so-called orange peel skin can be visible on the buttocks, lower legs, and thighs, but also on the arms, stomach, or chest.

But of course, there are differences: women with congenital weaknesses in the connective tissue often develop dents at a young age – which, by the way, are completely harmless to health. Women with strong connective tissue, on the other hand, do so later or never. So disposition is key here.

Preventing and treating cellulite: Here’s how!

Since the development of cellulite is genetically determined, it unfortunately cannot be prevented. But: The severity of the dents can definitely be reduced with a few simple measures and the right skin care. The best means of treatment is clearly: sport.

Regular exercise burns fat and systematically builds muscle. Fatty tissue has little chance of spreading uncontrollably and bulging the skin from the inside. Massages are also helpful. They stimulate the blood circulation in the tissue, which appears plumper and therefore more even. So treat yourself to a relaxing treatment more often!

A balanced diet and sufficient fluid intake of at least 1.5 liters per day also help in the fight against cellulite. Because: Both push the metabolism. This also counteracts the spread of fat cells. Also read our post on dehydrating teas.

Last but not least, complement your comprehensive anti-cellulite program with firming beauty products such as a special body lotion. Popular and proven active ingredients here are caffeine, Q10 or retinol.

Do-it-yourself tip: At home, mix coffee grounds with olive oil to form a paste and apply to the orange peel. Leave on for a few minutes, then rinse off.
