Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 4 large oranges, navel-
  • ¼ tsp orange blossom water
  • 1 tbsp powdered sugar
  • Cardamom, to taste

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Total time approx. 2 hours 30 minutes

Lichine ma Zhar, Morocco

Peel and segment the oranges. Arrange them decoratively, slightly overlapping, on a plate. Drizzle with orange blossom water. Cover the oranges tightly with foil and refrigerate for at least 2 hours. Sprinkle the oranges with powdered sugar and cardamom before serving. A delicious dessert. Lichine ma Zhar is served in Morocco as a “sweet” salad with cinnamon; add about 1/8 tsp.
