Oriental Carrot Vegetables

The perfect oriental carrot vegetables recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.

  • 4 medium sized Carrots
  • 2 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 small Red onion
  • 1 tsp Grated ginger
  • 75 ml Vegetable broth
  • Salt pepper
  • 0,25 tsp Ground cumin
  • 1 pinch Ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp Raisins
  1. Peel, wash and cut the carrots into sticks. Peel the onion and cut into fine rings.
  2. Let the sugar caramelize in a saucepan. Fry the prepared carrots in it, add grated ginger and fry briefly. Deglaze with vegetable stock and simmer covered for about 7-10 minutes.
  3. Season the carrots with salt, pepper, cumin and cinnamon. Add the raisins, stir well and let stand on the switched off stove for about 3 minutes.
  4. Tastes good with fried fish or meat.
