Oriental Couscous and Raisin Meatballs
The perfect oriental couscous and raisin meatballs recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
For the meatballs:
- 120 g Couscous fine
- 3 tbsp Sultanas
- Salt
- 500 g Mixed minced meat
- 1 size Onion
- 2 middle Garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp Coriander fresh, finely chopped
- 1 Egg
Spices:
- 0,75 tsp Salt
- 5 turns Black pepper from the mill
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
- 0,5 tsp Cumin
- 1 Knife point Cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp Sweet paprika
- 0,25 tsp Turmeric spice
- 1 Knife point Ground cardamom
Breading:
- 5 tbsp Sesame seeds
To fry:
- 4 tbsp Vegetable oil
For degreasing:
- 2 sheet Kitchen roll
- Cook the couscous together with the sultanas according to the instructions on the packet and allow to cool completely (if the addition of butter is recommended for the preparation, please omit).
- Put the minced meat in a bowl. Fluff up the couscous with a fork and add. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Add to the meat with the coriander and the egg. Add the spices and knead everything to a smooth mass.
- Approx. Shape 4 cm meatballs. Put the sesame seeds in a deep plate. Roll about half of the meatballs in sesame seeds, knock off any excess grains. Heat oil in a pan. First fry the meatballs until crispy brown without the sesame coating. Briefly degrease on kitchen roll and keep warm (preferably in the oven at 50 degrees, top and bottom heat). Then fry the meatballs with sesame paste and degrease.
- Arrange the meatballs together, we had lemon mango rice as a side dish, a courgette and sheep cheese dip with bread and a simple cucumber salad with yogurt dressing (unfortunately without picture and recipe, the craftsman in the house distracted me ;-)) ). Wish you a good appetite and have fun cooking at home. Links to the mentioned supplement and the dip in steps 5 and 6.
- Side dishes: Fruity lemon mango rice
- Starters / Dips: Spicy zucchini and sheep cheese dip
- TIP: If you don’t like coriander, you can also use parsley as an alternative. Raisins can also be easily replaced with chopped dried apricots or plums.
