Ingredients for 4 servings:
- 800 g chicken breast
- 2 onions, red
- salt and pepper
- 2 garlic cloves
- 150 g yogurt
- 1 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 3 tbsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 tsp gyro seasoning

For the marinade, finely chop the garlic and mix with the remaining ingredients in a large, lidded bowl. Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized cubes, mix well with the yogurt marinade in the bowl, and refrigerate overnight. Halve the onions lengthwise and then thinly slice them crosswise. Mix the marinated chicken breast with the onions and place in a large casserole dish. Bake the chicken gyro in a preheated oven at 200°C (convection oven) for approximately 30 to 40 minutes, until it is the desired browning. Season the finished chicken gyro with salt and pepper to taste. Serve with tzatziki, coleslaw, and wedges, French fries, or oven-baked hash browns. These can be easily prepared with the chicken gyro using the convection oven.
