Oven dumplings from the grill

Ingredients for 6 servings:

  • 200 g apples
  • 140 g bread(s) or toast
  • 150 ml milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 40 g sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 30 g sugar
  • 1 piece(s) butter
  • 1 tbsp almonds, ground

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 5 minutes

Peel the apples and chop them into small pieces along with the bread, then place them in a bowl. You can combine it with other ingredients you like, such as raisins, nuts, etc. Whisk the milk, eggs, and sugar until frothy and add to the apples and bread. Mix everything well and let it sit for a few minutes. Then fill it into 6 small molds. Mix the remaining sugar with the cinnamon and almonds and sprinkle over the filling. Place small knobs of butter on top. Grill the molds over indirect heat at around 160°C for 45 minutes. Vanilla sauce goes best with this.
