Pan-fried gyros

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 750 g pork schnitzel
  • 4 onions, red
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 4 tbsp oil
  • ½ tsp curry powder
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp gyro seasoning
  • 1 bunch of spring onions
  • 1 bunch of parsley

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Rest time approx. 1 hour; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 1 hour 35 minutes

Cut the pork schnitzel into thin strips. Peel the onions and garlic cloves. Slice the onions into rings and crush the garlic. Mix both with the meat strips, oil, curry powder, salt, pepper, paprika, and gyro seasoning and marinate in the refrigerator for about 1 hour. Clean, wash, and slice the spring onions and add them to the marinated gyro. Fry vigorously in a hot pan for about 10 minutes, stirring frequently. Season the pan-fried gyro with the spices to taste. Wash and finely chop the parsley and sprinkle over the top. Serve with fresh seasonal salad and baguette, if desired.
