Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 2 large green bell peppers, cut into strips
  • 2 large red bell peppers, cut into strips
  • 2 tomatoes, cut into large pieces
  • 2 medium-sized onions, roughly chopped
  • 500 g minced meat, mixed
  • 40 g bacon, fat, diced
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 bottle of tomato ketchup
  • Salt
  • Black pepper, freshly ground
  • sweet peppers
  • Garlic, granulated
  • some sugar
  • possibly potato starch, to thicken

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 20 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

Fry the bacon cubes in the oil over low heat and then remove. Brown the minced meat in the bacon fat until crumbly. Add the bell peppers, tomatoes, onions, and ketchup, and season with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic, and sugar. Bring to a boil, then simmer, covered, for about 20 minutes. Thicken with potato starch if desired, and season again. Serve with rice.
