- 1 can of corn
- 500 g minced pork or poultry
- 5 tsp gyro seasoning
- 400 ml cream
- 1 onion(s)
- some fat for frying
- 1 tsp vegetable stock powder
- 1 handful of fried onions
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 300 ml water
- 400 ml Hungarian-style paprika sauce
- e.g. chili sauce
- 1 tsp oregano
- ½ tsp thyme
- ½ tsp salt and pepper
- ½ tsp paprika powder
- ¼ tsp marjoram
- ¼ tsp sugar
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp coriander
- ¼ tsp rosemary
- 1 pinch of chili powder
Instructions
Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes
Wash and chop the bell peppers and corn. Mix the meat with the spices (ready-made gyro seasoning or those listed) and let it simmer for 15 minutes. Brown it in a pan, add the cream and paprika, and bring to a boil. Peel and chop the onion, and sauté it in a little fat. Mix the vegetable stock powder with the fried onions and cornstarch. Then stir in the cooled onions from the pan (if you need a quicker version, simply use an onion soup pack). To do this, stir the prepared onion mixture into the water and add it to the remaining ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes and season with the chili sauce. Tip: If you want the meat to be extra tender, brown it and let it marinate in the cream overnight.
