Passion fruit vanilla syrup

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 6 passion fruit(s)
  • 250 ml juice (mango juice)
  • 250 g sugar
  • ½ vanilla pod(s), the pulp
  • 1 pinch of cardamom powder
  • ½ tbsp orange liqueur

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Rest time approx. 2 hours; Cooking/baking time approx. 5 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 25 minutes

Halve the passion fruit, squeeze the juice, and bring to a boil in a saucepan with the mango juice. Strain through a sieve. Add the sugar, cardamom, vanilla pulp, and orange liqueur, bring back to a boil, and reduce over low heat for about 5 minutes. Bottle the passion fruit syrup and let it cool for at least 2 hours. Seal the bottles tightly. Tastes delicious infused with water or sparkling wine, over ice, or as a garnish for quark dishes. The syrup will keep for 3 months.
