Pasta casserole in cheese and cream sauce with bacon and leek

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g pasta, preferably penne or tagliatelle
  • 2 packs of cheese (200 g each), variety of your choice
  • 1 bunch of leeks
  • 125 g bacon
  • 2 cups of cream (approx. 200 g each)
  • salt and pepper
  • Paprika powder
  • nutmeg

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 50 minutes

Cook the pasta in salted water until almost al dente. Meanwhile, fry the bacon and slice the leek into rings. Pour the cream into a small bowl and season with salt, pepper, paprika, and nutmeg. Add the fried bacon and leek and stir. Preheat the oven to 180°C (top/bottom heat) (160°C fan/convection oven). Fill the casserole dish with half of the cooked pasta, spread half of the sauce over it, and sprinkle the first half of the cheese on top. The next layers are again pasta, sauce, and cheese. Bake the casserole in the oven until the cheese is golden brown.
