Spread the love

Ingredients for 2 servings:

  • 250 g pasta (e.g. maccheroni)
  • 2 slices of meatloaf or Leberkäse (thick snack slices)
  • 200 ml cream
  • 3 eggs
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 35 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Pasta casserole like my mom always made, quick, easy and without cheese

Precook the pasta according to the package instructions and drain well. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to approximately 200°C (top/bottom heat). Cut the meatloaf into fairly small cubes. Layer the pasta and meatloaf in a casserole dish or simply mix them together (no need to grease the dish). Whisk the cream and eggs well and season generously with salt and pepper. Pour the mixture over the pasta. The pasta doesn’t need to be completely covered. This way, the top layer of pasta and the meatloaf will be nice and crispy. Cover the casserole dish (with aluminum foil if necessary). Place in the hot oven for approximately 25 minutes. Remove the lid and let it crisp up for another 10 minutes at full heat. It’s best to stay there. When the desired degree of browning is reached, the casserole is ready.
