Pea soup with sausages from the Thermomix

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 100 g onion(s), quartered
  • 150 g ham or bacon, diced
  • 250 g carrot(s), cut into pieces
  • 100 g celeriac, cut into pieces
  • 150 g leek, in white and green rings
  • 200 g green split peas
  • 2 tbsp vegetable broth
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 pinches of pepper
  • 4 Vienna sausages
  • 1 tbsp oregano

Instructions

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 1 hour 45 minutes; Total time approx. 2 hours 5 minutes

for the TM5

Place the onions in the mixing bowl, chop for 3 seconds/speed 5 and scrape down the sides of the bowl with the spatula. Add the bacon cubes and sauté for 3 minutes/120°C/speed 1. Add the carrots and celery and chop for 5 seconds/speed 4.5. Add the leek rings, peas, 900g water, stock, salt and pepper. Place the empty Varoma in place as a splash guard and cook for 60 minutes/100°C/turn anti-clockwise/speed 1. Set the Varoma aside and add the sausages. Add the oregano to the mixing bowl, place the Varoma and sausages in place and cook for a further 20 minutes/100°C/turn anti-clockwise/speed 1. Set the Varoma aside and season the soup to taste. Slice the sausages, serve with the soup and serve.
