Pear and plum compote with cinnamon

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 900 g pear(s)
  • 800 g plums
  • 250 ml orange juice
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar
  • 500 g gelling sugar 2:1

Instructions

Working time approx. 40 minutes; Rest time approx. 5 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 10 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Peel the pears, remove the cores, and dice them. Wash, stone, and dice the plums. Squeeze the lemon. Weigh 750g each of pears and plums, place them in a tall saucepan with the orange and lemon juice, cinnamon sticks, and vanilla sugar, and mix well with the preserving sugar. Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring constantly, and simmer for at least 3 minutes. Remove the cinnamon sticks, skim off any skimmed milk, and immediately fill prepared jars to the brim. Secure the jars with screw caps, turn upside down, and let stand with the lids on for about 5 minutes.
