Pear compote with cinnamon

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg pear(s)
  • 150 ml water
  • 3 tbsp, heaped sugar
  • 1 pinch of cinnamon
  • 1 packet of vanilla sugar

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 55 minutes

Peel, core, and cut the pears into small pieces. Place the pears in a saucepan and add a small amount of the water—enough to simmer, but not all of it! Simmer the pears over medium heat for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then add the sugar and cinnamon and pour in all the water (you may need less than 150 ml, depending on how thick you want it). Roughly purée the mixture with a hand blender. Pour the compote into a jam jar. The compote tastes great with potato dumplings, but it’s also delicious as a dessert.
