Ingredients for 7 servings:

  • 3 liters of freshly squeezed pear juice (from about 5 kg of ripe pears)
  • 400 g sugar, white
  • 4 bags of vanilla sugar
  • 1 lime(s), the juice
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 1 vanilla pod(s)
  • 2 bottles of schnapps (Doppelkorn)

Instructions

Working time approx. 45 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

simple (and) delicious

Juice approximately 5 kg of ripe pears. Measure 3 liters of juice. Bring to a boil with 400 g of sugar, vanilla sugar, a cinnamon stick, and a split vanilla pod, and let cool. Remove the cinnamon stick and vanilla pod. Add the lime juice and Doppelkorn schnapps, stir, pour through a fine sieve, and bottle. Makes 7 0.7-liter bottles. The liqueur is ready to drink immediately, but will gain flavor over time.
