Elderberry liqueur

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 ½ kg elderberries
  • 1 liter of schnapps (grain)
  • 1 liter of water
  • 5 packs of vanilla sugar
  • 500 g sugar
  • 10 drops of bitter almond flavor

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

makes about 3.5 liters.

Boil the elderberries in water for about 20 minutes. Strain the berries and collect the juice. Bring the juice to a boil again briefly with the sugar, vanilla sugar, and bitter almond oil. Add the berries and pour into tightly sealed bottles.
