Pear – Vanilla – Rum – Jam

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg pear(s)
  • 1 lemon(s)
  • 50 g raisins (rum raisins)
  • 500 g gelling sugar, 2:1
  • vanilla powder
  • 1 pack flavoring (bourbon vanilla)
  • 1 stalk(s) cinnamon
  • 4 cloves
  • 2 tbsp rum

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Total time approx. 30 minutes

Makes about 5 – 6 small preserving jars.

Peel, core, and slice the pears with the rum-infused raisins, cloves, and cinnamon stick in a saucepan. Drizzle with lemon juice and simmer for 15 minutes until soft. Then discard the cloves and cinnamon stick. Puree the pear mixture and add the rum. Add the gelling sugar and cook for 4 minutes at full steam. Stir continuously. Add the vanilla powder and the flavoring and stir well again. Test for setting. Then pour into hot, rinsed jars, seal tightly, and turn upside down until cool.
