easy preparation
First, clean and finely dice the vegetables (except for the parsley), the onion, and the kohlrabi. Finely chop the parsley. Heat the oil in a large pot. Sauté the vegetables and pearl barley in the pot. Then deglaze with white wine and let the alcohol evaporate. Now add the water and bring to a boil. Now add the smoked pork. Reduce the heat to low and simmer with the lid on for 70 minutes. Remove the smoked pork, let it cool slightly, and cut it into cubes. Then return it to the pot. Let it simmer over very low heat until the pearl barley is soft. Season to taste and sprinkle with the finely chopped parsley. The dish can be reheated or frozen. The consistency should be creamy; if necessary, it can be thinned with water.
