Pears and Dumplings
The perfect pears and dumplings recipe with a picture and simple step-by-step instructions.
- 10 Piece Cooking pears
- 4 Piece Mettwurst
- 500 g Smoked Kassler
- 250 g Fresh or smoked pork belly or both
- 1 Pck Vanilla pudding
- 1 Basic yeast dough recipe
- 600 ml Water
- First, make a basic yeast dough recipe and let it rise. Put the water in a large saucepan and let the meat cook for about 30 minutes. Quarter the pears and remove the casing. Now put the meatloaf and the pear quarters in the pot. Place the yeast dumpling in a clean tea towel and hang it in the pot. Goes well if you put the lid on the cloth, grab all 4 ends and then put it on the pot. The lump must not be in the liquid. Cook for about 30 to 40 minutes .. Finally, remove the dumpling and cut it into slices, place the meat on a plate, mix the pudding powder with a little liquid and add to the pears and thicken the liquid. This is a recipe from my grandma and is eaten like this in the north or, if you don’t like the meat, simply omitted.
