The main difference between these types of ducks is the size and fat content of the meat. The fattiest type is the Peking duck. It originally comes from China and came to Germany at the end of the 19th century, where it is now known as the domestic or farmer’s duck. At 3 to 3.5 kilograms, it is the heaviest of the three ducks.
Muscovy duck is less fatty and popular because of its pronounced breast meat. A well-known example is the Muscovy duck. Muscovy ducks have stronger flight muscles because their nests are in trees. They weigh between 2 and 3 kilograms. Their flesh is juicy and tasty.
The meat of the wild duck is the leanest, which is why it is considered to be particularly noble. Young animals have a spicy taste, while the meat of older ones is tough. It is the smallest duck in this series, its slaughter weight is 1 kilogram.
