Penne with a creamy bacon and vegetable sauce

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 1 bell pepper(s)
  • 1 tomato(s)
  • 100 g corn
  • 100 ml milk
  • 200 ml cream
  • 100 g cream cheese
  • 50 g bacon cubes
  • 1 kg penne
  • 1 pinch(s) of oregano
  • 1 pinch(s) basil
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1 pinch(s) of pepper
  • 1 pinch(s) nutmeg
  • 1 pinch of garlic
  • n. B. cornstarch

Instructions

Working time approx. 10 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 25 minutes

Cook the pasta al dente according to the package instructions. For the sauce, dice the bell peppers and place them in a blender. Cut the tomatoes into eighths, add them to the blender with the corn, and blend well. In a separate container, mix the bacon cubes, milk, cream, and cream cheese, then transfer to a saucepan and add cornstarch, if desired. Season to taste. Bring the sauce to a boil and simmer until a light crust forms. Serve the sauce with the pasta. Tip: Instead of adding the bacon cubes to the sauce, you can also fry them in a separate pan and then serve them with the pasta and sauce.
