Penne with ham and green asparagus

Ingredients for 4 servings:

  • 500 g asparagus, green
  • 200 g penne or other pasta
  • salt water
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 5 cocktail tomatoes
  • 100 g Parmesan, grated
  • 100 g ham, raw
  • 3 tbsp pine nuts
  • salt and pepper
  • some basil for garnishing

Instructions

Working time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 15 minutes

Cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Meanwhile, wash the asparagus, trim off any woody ends, and cut into approximately 5 cm long pieces. Toast the pine nuts in a large pan without fat, then set aside. Finely chop the garlic and thinly slice the ham. Add the asparagus, garlic, and ham to a pan at the same time and sauté. Just before adding the pasta, add the halved cherry tomatoes. Add the pasta, Parmesan cheese, and pine nuts, season with salt and pepper, and mix well. Serve and garnish with basil.
