Peppermint syrup

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g peppermint (use dry, clean leaves)
  • 15 g citric acid
  • 500 g sugar
  • 1 liter of water
  • 1 pinch of food coloring, green (powder)

Instructions

Working time approx. 25 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 15 minutes; Total time approx. 40 minutes

“Green Devil” – syrup poured over mineral water or sparkling wine, simply devilishly good.

Blend the peppermint with the sugar in a food processor. Then add it to a saucepan with the water and citric acid, bring to a boil, and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain through a fine sieve (or a cloth), then add the food coloring. Heat everything up again and pour into clean, screw-top bottles.
