Pickled pumpkin sweet – sour and spicy

Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 1 kg pumpkin(s), peeled and diced
  • 50 g ginger, peeled and finely chopped
  • 200 g honey
  • ¾ liter vinegar
  • ½ liter of water
  • 5 peppers, finely chopped
  • 2 onions, in rings
  • Pinch(s) of nutmeg
  • some sugar
  • pinch(s) of salt

Instructions

Working time approx. 30 minutes; Rest time approx. 4 hours; Total time approx. 4 hours 30 minutes

Divide the peeled and diced pumpkin, onion rings, chili peppers, and ginger among the boiled jars (fill well). Bring the vinegar and water mixture to a boil. Dissolve the honey in it and season with nutmeg, salt, and sugar to taste. Pour the boiling liquid into the jars up to the brim. Screw the lids on tightly and let cool upside down. Eat as is or as an accompaniment to game or pan-fried meat.
