Turkish pizza boats
Mix all the ingredients for the dough. The dough should form a smooth “lump.” Place it in a sealable bowl and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour. After rising, the dough should be flecked with fine bubbles and roll out easily. Halve the frozen sucuk, halve the resulting halves again, and then cut into approximately 0.3 cm thick slices. Set aside. Grate the cheese, slice the bell peppers, and set aside. Line the baking sheets with parchment paper. Then place the dough on a floured surface and form into a log. Divide this log into 7 roughly equal pieces and shape these pieces into balls. Flatten each ball slightly, shape it into an oval, and then roll it out flat to about 1 cm thick. Fold up the edges to create a 1 cm high rim. Pinch the ends together to form a rounded point. This will look like a small boat—pide in Turkish. Continue this process until you have 7 boats. Top the pide with the cheeses and strips of bell pepper. Finally, top with salami or sucuk and let rest, covered, for 10 minutes. Bake the pide in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes. The edges should be golden brown.
