Ingredients for 1 servings:

  • 100 g pistachios, unsalted
  • 200 g marzipan paste
  • 175 g powdered sugar
  • 50 g ground almonds
  • 1 egg(s)
  • 1 vanilla pod(s) or
  • ½ bag(s) flavoring (vanilla baking)
  • ½ bottle of bitter almond flavor
  • 1 tsp cream or milk

Working time approx. 20 minutes; Cooking/baking time approx. 25 minutes; Total time approx. 45 minutes

Grind or chop the pistachios. Grate the marzipan (this works best if you place the marzipan mixture in the freezer for half an hour beforehand). Combine the powdered sugar and marzipan. Add the pistachios and almonds and mix. Stir in the egg whites, vanilla seeds, and bitter almond flavoring. Mix the egg yolks and cream. Form the dough into a log. Using your hands, shape each log into about 50 small balls and flatten them slightly. Place on a baking sheet. Brush with the egg yolk and cream mixture. Bake at 150°C (top/bottom heat, fan oven: 175°C) for about 20–25 minutes.
